Lepidopterophobia, or the phobia of butterflies and moths, is something that bothers Eva Chen, CEO of cybersecurity company Trend Micro. Overcoming her fear has helped Chen navigate the world of business, especially when she has a tough decision to make. Until now, I still don't know why I think butterflies look very strange," Chen shared with CNBC's My Biggest Lessons. But when Chen took the helm of Trend Micro, she decided to confront her fear of butterflies by keeping a taxidermy of the insects. "I touch my butterfly [earrings] and say, I can do it, I can overcome my fear," she said.
